Metasploit Encoding and Antivirus Detection

So for a school project I'm studying the how well Metasploit's encoders hide executables from antivirus. Here's the proposal powerpoint. It has a lot of useful information regarding antivrus software and malware techniques, so it's worth a quick read. The finished product (results and all!) should be done in a month or so. In the meantime, I might post a Metasploit tutorial. Check back in  a few days for it.

  6. I should have time for a simple Metasploit tutorial tomorrow. Does it matter the platform? I run Ubuntu, so it's just easier for me that way. But if I get an overwhelming Windows response, I'll make it happen.

So, Windows or Linux based Metasploit tutorial?

  7. Windows please, unless Ubuntu isn't overwhelmingly different

  8. The only difference should be the install. Both programs are pretty much the same after that.
